PADI Enriched Air (Nitrox) Diver Specialty

Overview

The PADI Enriched Air (Nitrox) Diver Specialty is the most popular PADI Specialty available. Scuba diving with Enriched Air Nitrox lets you safely extend your no decompression limits, which means more time underwater. Typically, you can stay down longer and get back in the water sooner, no wonder that this the most popular scuba diving specialty offered!

Enriched Air Nitrox replaces some of the nitrogen in the air with oxygen giving you and enriched mix in your dive tanks. This means you absorb less nitrogen during your scuba dive, giving you longer no decompression limits. It is especially beneficial in the 60-to-100-foot range where it gives you more of what you got into diving for – time underwater!
During the course, you will learn techniques for getting more dive time by using enriched air nitrox, dive equipment considerations, and how to plan your enriched air nitrox dives. There is no need for special equipment, but a nitrox compatible computer is recommended and one of the Sea Experience Instructors will instruct you on its use and how to program it for enriched air nitrox use.

Diving with enriched air nitrox benefits all types of scuba diving but goes especially well with the Wreck Diver, Deep Diver, and Digital Underwater Photographer courses. You can also take the Enriched Air Nitrox Specialty course at the same time as the Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water courses.

The best part is that this Specialty can be accomplished in one day! Open Water dives are not required but available as an option.
