Emergency First Response (EFR)

PADI Emergency First Response (EFR)Overview

Emergency First Response (EFR) courses follow the emergency considerations and protocols as developed by the members of the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR). Among members of ILCOR are American Heart Association and Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada (HSFC).  Emergency First Response Corp. is a corporate affiliate of PADI.

Emergency First Response (EFR) gives you the tools you need to perform Primary Care (CPR) and Secondary Care (First Aid). Whether you are a diver or a non-diver, Emergency First Response prepares you to properly handle potentially life-threatening situations and follows the same priority of care as professional responders. The Primary Care (CPR) section focuses on care for most life threatening emergencies though knowledge development, skill development and scenario practice. The Secondary Care section covers illness and injuries that are not immediately life threatening. Focus is put on secondary assessments and application of First Aid through knowledge development, skill development and scenario practice. EFR Care for Children is a valuable add-on option to the course as well.
